In order to purchase a weapon, a person must go through at least as much scrutiny as a person that is applying for public assistance. There should be at least one psychiatric evaluation involved.
The only people that would find this unreasonable are people that should probably wait a little while to buy a gun.
Again, I am fully aware that guns will still be able to obtained illegally, but every little bit of prevention helps.
