The smoke has cleared in Massachusetts as residents voted favorably for Question 3 on Election Day, November 6, allowing for the legalization of medicinal marijuana and for the state to set up dispensaries and doll out the drug for patients with debilitating diseases.
By passing Question 3, Massachusetts became the 18th state to legalize marijuana for medical purposes.
According to early reports, despite much public outcry to thwart efforts to get medical pot legalized in the Bay State, the measure passed by an overwhelming majority.
According to Boston.com, statewide, 63% of those who voted were in favor of Question 3 while 37% voted against the measure.
