HUMAN rights judges have ruled that hook-handed hate preacher Abu Hamza should be extradited to the US on terror charges.
A nine-year fight to ship Hamza, 53, to the US on terror charges came to a head this morning.
The fanatical hook-handed Muslim cleric learned today that he has lost his legal battle to stay in Britain.
Euro judges delivered their long-awaited ruling on his appeal in Strasbourg today.
Hamza is wanted in the US on 11 terrorism charges.
The Egyptian-born radical and five other extremists have claimed jail terms of up to 50 years in a “supermax” US prison would breach their human rights.
They said such sentences without parole constituted “inhuman or degrading treatment” — which would rule out extradition.
US authorities have described Hamza as a “terrorist facilitator with a global reach” and have been trying to get him extradited since 2004.
He faces charges related to taking 16 hostages in Yemen in 1998, promoting violent jihad in Afghanistan in 2001 and conspiring to set up a jihad training camp in Oregon.
There had been fears of a repeat of the Abu Qatada deportation madness if Strasbourg ruled in Hamza’s favour.
He is currently in Belmarsh high-security prison in Woolwich, South East London, after being jailed in 2006 for incitement to murder.
The Sun has led calls to sling out Hamza — the former infamous hate preacher at Finsbury Park Mosque in London — since 2003.
The Home Office said: “We can confirm the European Court of Human Rights judgments in the cases of Abu Hamza and five others are due to be given on April 10. All have appealed against extradition to the US.”
